In the past I’ve shown the excellent 1/4 scale Lucky Star figures that FREEing originally released in 2009-2010 as well as the hard to find extra outfits. Apparently, enough crazy Lucky Star fans like myself bought the figures that FREEing followed up their original set of 4 figures with an additional 4, this time with some of the girls from class 1-D. And I just happen to be crazy enough to purchase the four new figures and have them here for your visual enjoyment ;)
Toradora Beach Queens
In February I reviewed the Lucky Star Beach Queens figures and found them to be a good buy. When I saw that Wave was also doing Toradora figures in the Beach Queens series, I promptly placed my pre-orders and I now have all three girls from the popular romance comedy series.
A few new goodies
Dollfies and figures are great and all, but it’s really the anime that keeps me in this hobby. Today, I have a few new anime related goodies which aren’t just meant to be displayed on a shelf ;)
Misao Kusakabe
Long time, no figure post ^^; I know I’ve not been posting much for the past several months yet I still refuse to admit it and just say I’m a hiatus ;) I will continue to post but the intervals between posts may remain long for the foreseeable future. Sorry, I know how much my rabid fanbase loves to read my lil’ old blog ;) So anyway, this time I have an addition to the cute 1/12 scale Kagami and Tsukasa figures I reviewed way back in November 2009. Last fall, Wave released Misao Kusakabe as a new figure in their 1/12 scale Lucky Star set. And here she is (just a few months late ^^;) Continue reading
DDS Marisa Arrives!
Today, a long-awaited package finally arrived in my possession. Way back in September, I placed a pre-order for Marisa Kirisame, one of the two Touhou girls debuting in the new Volks Dollfie Dream Sister body. Unfortunately, these Touhou girls were Japan-only releases but I was quite taken with the Marisa previews (and I like her character :3) so I tried something new and placed an order directly on the Volks Japan site using a Tenso address. The process went surprisingly well given that I used a US credit card in a Japanese ordering system and I wasn’t sure if they’d accept the Tenso address. But as you can see, it all worked out in the end! I am happy to present Marisa, my second full Dollfie Dream :D
Lucky Star Beach Queens Konata and Kagami
Hey, what does anonymous_object love? Lucky Star? Kagami? Ping pong! That’s right. Here I have two super cute Lucky Star figures from Wave’s Beach Queen series. Thought I’d share some pics. Care to take a look? ^^
Ohayocon Meet
Had the opportunity to meet with some fellow DD owners earlier this week at the Ohayocon convention in Columbus, Ohio (Ohayocon, get it? ^^;).
We mainly went for the meet. In fact, only one person in our party actually purchased a convention badge since we arrived a bit late and the con itself was nearly over ^^; Continue reading
How to repair a broken DD
For those that saw my last post, Yui’s Snow Day, know that although the shoot was successful, it also resulted in a injury to Yui… But thanks to a nearby friend (thanks Kevin!) with garage kit building skills and tools, Yui made a miraculous recovery ^^. And since several people were curious about the process, I documented it with photos at each step which I will be sharing in this post.
The damage. The shoulder joint peg had completely snapped off ;_; We’re about to fix it though! Continue reading
