In February I reviewed the Lucky Star Beach Queens figures and found them to be a good buy. When I saw that Wave was also doing Toradora figures in the Beach Queens series, I promptly placed my pre-orders and I now have all three girls from the popular romance comedy series.
Long time, no figure post ^^; I know I’ve not been posting much for the past several months yet I still refuse to admit it and just say I’m a hiatus ;) I will continue to post but the intervals between posts may remain long for the foreseeable future. Sorry, I know how much my rabid fanbase loves to read my lil’ old blog ;) So anyway, this time I have an addition to the cute 1/12 scale Kagami and Tsukasa figures I reviewed way back in November 2009. Last fall, Wave released Misao Kusakabe as a new figure in their 1/12 scale Lucky Star set. And here she is (just a few months late ^^;) Continue reading
Hey, what does anonymous_object love? Lucky Star? Kagami? Ping pong! That’s right. Here I have two super cute Lucky Star figures from Wave’s Beach Queen series. Thought I’d share some pics. Care to take a look? ^^
I have purchased several Toradora figures recently and have decided to review them all in a single post. I’d like to start with Kotobukiya’s 1/8 scale Taiga Aisaka which was released in October last year. Sadly, she was a mail order exclusive and thus was a tad more difficult to obtain. Thankfully, Tokyo Hunter was able to order it for me ^^. It was the first time I had used his service and he was able to promptly ship it out when it arrived :) Was a bit more expensive than most deputy services but if you want to order an actual mail order-only item when there isn’t even a Japan-only web order form, I would recommend his service. Seeing as how I’m about half a dozen figures behind in reviews, I decided it was time to stop being lazy and post pretty pictures. This time ’round it’s Fijibayashi Kyou from the popular visual novel and hit anime series Clannad. Did anyone else watch it? ;) Kyou is one of my all time favorite characters so I couldn’t help but to pick her up last August. Continue reading
Some recently acquired goodies ^^. I’ve got a long list of figures that I have not yet had a chance to post about but have been quite busy recently (more on that soon). First up is the adorable and unique Kagabu plushie from Lucky Star. Kagabu is not an official character from the series. From some Google’ing, I found that there is a doujinshi comic in which Kagami is a pig/girl thing and this is what it’s based on. I haven’t read the manga so I don’t actually know what it’s about ^^; However, that didn’t stop me from wanting my own Kagabu :D
My latest acquisition in the quest for Lucky Star world domination ^^. Here we have Wave’s non-scale Konata and Kanata, Treasures of Soujirou Set. Soujirou, for those who aren’t aware, is Konata’s otaku galge/H game/anime loving dad. The Treasures of Soujirou set is both Konata and Kanata together (normally sold separately) and some bonus accessories. Continue reading
Wave’s 1/8 scale Aisaka Taiga figure is now open for reservation!
This is the figure I’ve been watching for some time now, starting with the unpainted prototype shown at Wonder Festival. I have to say Taiga looks quite cute from these images but I’m weary of the swappable faces it features. All the figures with swappable faces that I’ve seen tend to have more noticeable seams on their heads.
Still, I like the figure. The laughing face, smiling face, and sad faces all look good though I personally prefer to keep my Taigas happy ^^. Quite likely I will be getting her. She is available for reservation at Hobby Search for 7,125 yen and will be released in December.
But wait, there’s more! Order now and you’ll receive a free Minami Chiaki Nendoroid!
OK, maybe not but Chiaki is also now available for reservation at Hobby Search. I’m really glad to see the Minami-ke Nendoroids starting ^^. Can’t wait for Kana xD
