Every so often you come across one of those figures that so precisely reminds you of why you like to like to collect figures in the first place. Amazingly enough, I’ve got two such figures right here in this post, though their release dates were quite some time apart. Alter has really hit the mark with their two Odin Sphere figures: Gwendolyn and more recently Mercedes. I have decided to group these two figures together into a single, awesome-filled post ;) Read on for more details and pretty pics.

Finally a new(ish) figure review! Good Smile Company recently released Black Rock Shooter figure found its way to me last week and I’ve got some piccies to prove it ;) Although I did not purchase first BRS figure (black rock cannon version), I seriously was tempted at the time. That is why when I saw the awesome-looking Blade version, I decided to not let her pass me by again!

I have purchased several Toradora figures recently and have decided to review them all in a single post. I’d like to start with Kotobukiya’s 1/8 scale Taiga Aisaka which was released in October last year. Sadly, she was a mail order exclusive and thus was a tad more difficult to obtain. Thankfully, Tokyo Hunter was able to order it for me ^^. It was the first time I had used his service and he was able to promptly ship it out when it arrived :) Was a bit more expensive than most deputy services but if you want to order an actual mail order-only item when there isn’t even a Japan-only web order form, I would recommend his service. Wave’s 1/8 scale Aisaka Taiga figure is now open for reservation!

This is the figure I’ve been watching for some time now, starting with the unpainted prototype shown at Wonder Festival. I have to say Taiga looks quite cute from these images but I’m weary of the swappable faces it features. All the figures with swappable faces that I’ve seen tend to have more noticeable seams on their heads.
Still, I like the figure. The laughing face, smiling face, and sad faces all look good though I personally prefer to keep my Taigas happy ^^. Quite likely I will be getting her. She is available for reservation at Hobby Search for 7,125 yen and will be released in December.
But wait, there’s more! Order now and you’ll receive a free Minami Chiaki Nendoroid!
OK, maybe not but Chiaki is also now available for reservation at Hobby Search. I’m really glad to see the Minami-ke Nendoroids starting ^^. Can’t wait for Kana xD
I was planning on doing a review of my newly acquired FREEing 1/4 Konata, but as it turns out, she had some major paint flaws. I may need to get a replacement as I don’t think I can repair the problems myself :( In the meantime, I went back to some photos I took in May of Gift’s 1/8 scale Saber from Fate/Stay Night. These photos have been sitting around too long anyway ^^;

Finally, new Lucky Star figures have arrived! It’s been 6 months since I first received the first half of Clayz’s 1/8 Lucky Star set, which included Kagami and Konata. Now, it’s Tsukasa and Miyuki’s turn ^^. Continue reading 'Clayz 1/8 Hiiragi Tsukasa & Takara Miyuki'»

After watching the Kannagi anime and thoroughly enjoying it, I found myself looking for more of the lovely Nagi-sama. I discovered that there were already a few Nagi figures out and about. Wave, Kotobukiya, and FREEing all had their own Nagi figures available and an additional Clayz version is out later this month. Sadly, these Nagi figures all seemed to have something slightly off with them but I thought the FREEing version was the most appealing and I decided to place an order for her.
