In between trying to force myself to watch Macross Frontier episodes, I started watching Kannagi: Crazy Shrine Maidens. This series aired last fall so while it has been around a while, I’m really glad I got around watching it.
Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM has been secured!
Since I bought my Canon 40D, I’ve been wanting a zoom lens to replace the mediocre 18-55mm that came with it. Well, I now have that better lens ^^ I am now the proud owner of a Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM ^^ Continue reading
Kotobukiya 1/6 Sanzen’in Nagi
Two big boxes arrived yesterday and when I opened the first one, a Nagi greeted me! Sanzen’in Nagi from Hayate no Gotoku, that is. Yep, the cute little otaku was finally convinced by Hayate to leave her room and go to the pool. She even agreed to put on this cute, star-patterned swimsuit ^^;
Since it was the first sunny day after a week of raining, I decided to take Nagi outside for a little field trip. It was still a bit muddy but the grass was green and the dandelions (tanpopo) were all around. Read on for more pics!
Artbook Stash Part 3
I’ve finally gotten to the third and final part of my huge artbook stash. It took me longer than I expected to go through all of them >_< And while I was going through all these artbooks, a few new ones arrived ^^; There are some goodies in this round. Pics and more info below.
“World is Mine” Miku ordering opens
Miku’s “World is Mine” persona has been made into a figure by Good Smile Co. and is now up for pre-order. It is a rather unique figure as she is laying down (as in the original World is Mine illustration) based on the Vocaloid song. This pose makes her take up a lot of room if you were to put her on a shelf or table.
Maybe that’s why this figure has a wooden frame which allows for vertical display. Yep, you can hang this Miku on your wall if you so desire. There are two versions, one with a light color wood and one with a darker finish (pictured above).
Sure, it’s different but I never really got into the Miku craze much. I’m sure this figure will be quite popular regardless. I will probably pass on her though. 7,961 yen at Hobby Search if you’re interested. Anyone planning on getting her? ^^
Kagami & Konata Chara-Ani Nendoroid
Just a quick look at some Nendoroids that I recently received. These are the Chara-Ani versions of Kagami and Konata from Lucky Star. These were limited edition Nendoroids and are somewhat difficult to find these days (and expensive). They both feature food items as their special accessories. Kagami has her delicious Pocky (Pochi here) and Konata has her choco cornet ^^
Each Nendoroid comes with 3 swappable faces, several arms, a chair, and stands. Like just about all the other Nendoroids I have, they have a tendency to fall apart easily, usually at the legs >_<
I think I have too many Nendoroids now. At least Lucky Star Nendoroids ^^;
I have another special Nendoroid that I will be posting soon. Pics coming soon :)
Some slow shutter fun
Was talking with a friend who just bought a compact digital camera and liked the slow shutter speeds for sunsets. I realized I hadn’t messed much with very long exposures on my own DSLR camera so I decided to give it a try. Took out my pocket LED flashlight and set the shutter speed to 30 seconds ^^ Continue reading
Macross Frontier
I started watching Macross Frontier a few weeks ago and finally got around to finishing it. I thought I was going to be able to complete the series in just a few days but as the series progressed my interest in it dwindled. It’s unfortunate because after watching Super Dimensional Fortress Macross a few months ago (which I enjoyed), I was looking forward to Macross Frontier. Read on for my impressions (and some spoilers).
