I’ve reached new heights in figure collecting

By , July 27, 2009 9:15 pm

Quite literally, that is…

A sneak peak at my latest acquisition which arrived today.  I knew right away what it was based on the size of the package ^^;  Konata is FREEing’s first figure in their 1/4 scale Lucky Star set and was released last week.

I know it’s 1/4 scale and is supposed to be big but I’m amazed by the size of this figure >_<  The above picture shows Konata against my monitor.  That’s a 26″ monitor and it really shows the sheer size of Konata ^^.  Also, the gym uniform is nice.  Real fabric!

Anyway, no time for a full review right now.  I will be posting more pics and a proper review sometime this week.  Look forward to it :)

FREEing 1/4 Miyuki Takara Pre-ordering Starts

By , July 24, 2009 5:03 pm

Looks like I got back just in time ^^.  The last of the four Lucky Star girls in FREEing’s 1/4 scale set went up for pre-ordering yesterday.  This time it’s Miyuki Takara, the moe-clumsy meganeko. I like her pose here, it definitely captures her moe-centric personality :)

You can place your pre-order at Hobby Search for a mere 11,581 yen ^^;  The figure itself will be released sometime in October.  For those who like Lucky Star, FREEing’s 1/4 Konata from this set was released a few days ago.  You can order her right now for a slightly less, but still hefty 10,677 yen price tag.

More info and pics of Miyuki at GSC’s site.

FREEing 1/4 Tsukasa Hiiragi Pre-ordering Starts

Tsukasa Hiiragi, the airheaded twin sister of Kagami, is now up for pre-ordering.  This is the 3rd figure in the 1/4 scale Lucky Star set by FREEing.  Konata and Kagami ordering has already begun.  Konata was scheduled to be released this month but has been delayed until late July.

I personally like Tsukasa’s pose in this figure.  Kagami might have looked a bit odd, but Tsukasa is brimming with cuteness ^^.  A definite pick for me.  She will retail for 12,800 (ouch!).  Hobby Search has started reservations for her at 11,581 yen.  She will be begin shipping in September.  Miyuki will be the next figure in the FREEing’s 1/4 scale set :)

FREEing 1/4 Kagami Pre-ordering Begins

By , May 19, 2009 9:25 am

The second Lucky Star character in FREEing’s 1/4 scale gym uniform set is up for pre-ordering.  Yep, this time it’s Kagami.  Some lovely twin tail power on display here.  She’s seriously cute in her gym uniform though I think her facial expression could have been better ^^;

Konata was announced back in February.  FREEing will be finishing up the set with Tsukasa and Miyuki soon.  I’m looking forward to them!  They are all 1/4 scale though so if you want to collect them, I hope you have lots of space!  Maybe I should be telling myself that then…

Kagami will be released in August 2009 and is available for pre-order at Hobby Search for 11,581 yen.  Costly, yes, but keep in mind she is 1/4 scale :)  I’m sure other shops will have her for pre-ordering soon.  More pics and info at GSC.

Good Smile announces 1/4 Lucky Star Figures by FREEing

By , February 21, 2009 11:02 pm

I just found out about this figure by FREEing which was announced a few days ago.  They are releasing a full set of the four Lucky Star girls starting with Izumi Konata.  These will be 1/4 scale figures which is really big, larger than any other figure I currently have.  Of course, as a result of the large scale, it will be quite expensive.  Hobby Search already has it up for pre-order for a hefty 10,677¥.

The cool thing about this figure is that it will have actual fabric for Konata’s gym uniform.  I haven’t owned a figure with fabric clothes but it looks pretty good from the preview photographs.  I’m really tempted to order this despite the cost ^^;  I’ve been collecting a lot of Lucky Star items and this seems too good to pass up.  I’m just not looking forward to how much lighter my wallet will be…

More pics and info at GSC.  Scheduled release in June.
